This garment was designed for the Fashion International 2003 Style Awards and was displayed on the runway at A Novel Idea...A Look At The Classics. It is also featured in the movie Almost Romeo. The top is made of black velvet and is hand sewn with gold coins and gypsy trim. The 19th century under bust corset is red China silk, trimmed with black suede. The purple overskirt and burgundy underskirt are made of crepe back satin; the underskirt is adorned with gypsy trims and satin ruffles. |
Renaissance Ensemble This garment is fashioned of blue crushed velvet and lined in black satin. The corset is trimmed with gold and purple Renaissance ribbon which is hand-beaded in gold pearl. The long blue velvet skirt has a front side slit and back closure. |
Elizabethan Ensemble The Elizabethan Ensemble is fashioned from tapestry with handwork in gold pearl. The sleeves are cream organza and are detachable, with additional gold pearl hand work on the ribbon. The train is also detachable and lined with black satin. Vintage Ensemble This ensemble is crafted of silver brocade and is lined with black satin. The corset has black ribbon lacing through silver D rings, and the skirt has a front side slit. The vintage inspired brocade hat has a black veil and a jewelry piece holding the ostrich feather. |
